Press Release

Laubwerk Player Update 1.0.26 and Summer Sale 2018

Potsdam (Germany), July 19, 2018: German digital botany software company Laubwerk announces the release of version 1.0.26 of their successful player plugins for Laubwerk Plants Kits, a collection of render-ready, realistic 3D plants designed specifically for architects, CG, and VFX artists. The updated versions of Plants Kits 1-12 and the Plants Kit Freebie are immediately available for SketchUp, Maya, 3ds Max, Cinema 4D, Houdini (on request), and Python (Windows). Our 2018 Summer Sale has also started, featuring a 20% discount.

Laubwerk Plants Kits enable architects, CG artists, and VFX specialists to insert photorealistic tree models into their 3D scenes quickly and easily, avoiding the usual slowdowns from overly complicated parameters or excess memory usage. Laubwerk accomplishes this goal by giving users just the right amount of variation in their 3D tree models, without overwhelming the user or their computer. Each tree model comes in three shapes, with three ages, and four seasons per shape. Adjustable detail level settings means that each tree looks great without slow navigation or long rendering times.

Lee Griggs, Technical Author at Solid Angle (Autodesk) and 3D artist, was one of Laubwerk’s beta testers of the new release. Lee says: “The Laubwerk assets automatically work with Arnold 5 shaders making the setup process effortless. Congratulations! Laubwerk has created a wide variety of beautifully realistic plants and trees that are suitable for any production.”

Highlights of the Plants Kit 1.0.26 update include:

  • 3ds Max: 2019 support, Arnold 5 support
  • Maya: Arnold 5 support
  • SketchUp: Snappier Laubwerk browser, V-Ray 2.x support is back
  • Cinema 4D: Updated Arnold 5 support to Arnold core version 5.1

Read the full list of improvements and fixes on the Release Notes page. To get the updates, sign in to your Laubwerk Account page and download a fresh installer for your Plants Kits.
