Press Release
Laubwerk Player Update 1.0.29 & Spring Sale 2019
Potsdam (Germany), April 8, 2019: German digital botany software company Laubwerk announces the release of version 1.0.29 of their successful player plugins for Laubwerk Plants Kits, a collection of render-ready, realistic 3D plants designed specifically for architects, CG, and VFX artists. All Laubwerk Plants Kits, including the Freebie Kit, now include the updated Laubwerk Player plugins for Autodesk 3ds Max 2020 and Maya 2019.
Ronen Bekerman, co-founder and general manager of Tel Aviv’s architectural visualization studio The Craft, is an early adopter—or even better, a user right from the start—of Laubwerk products. Ronen says: “Laubwerk’s 3D foliage assets are some of our favorites. The smart asset type and the plugin to use it is a powerful one! Less intensive on viewport performance, while allowing for fast variations, seasonal control, and level of detail for far-away trees and shrubs. For us, the fact we can use the same assets inside SketchUp is a BIG PLUS!”
Highlights of the Plant Kit 1.0.29 update include exclusive improvements for our Autodesk users:
- Added 3ds Max 2020 support
- Fixed an issue with opacity maps in Arnold Renderer
- Added Maya 2019 support
- Fixed an issue in Maya that caused a fatal error when changing the location of the plants library folder
To get the updates, sign in to your Laubwerk Account page and download fresh installers for your Plants Kits (Note: you only need to download install one Plants Kit, e.g. the Freebie, to update. Laubwerk Plants Kits let architects, CG artists, and VFX specialists insert photo-realistic tree models into their 3D scenes quickly and easily, avoiding typical slowdowns from overly complicated parameters or excess memory usage. Laubwerk accomplishes this goal by giving users just the right amount of variation in their 3D tree models, without overwhelming them or their computers. Each tree model comes in three shapes, with three ages, and four seasons per shape. Adjustable detail level settings means that each tree looks great without slow navigation or long rendering times.
