Updates Are In Bloom

Berlin (Germany), March 25, 2021: German digital botany software company Laubwerk announces version 1.0.37 of their successful Player plugin for use with Laubwerk Plants Kits, a collection of render-ready, realistic 3D plants designed specifically for architects, CG and VFX artists. Download the new installers, and get planting! The updated versions of Plants Kits 1-15 and Plants Kit Freebie are now available for SketchUp, Maya, 3ds Max, Cinema 4D, and Python.

César Morales Hin is a Laubwerk user and 3D Artist from San José, Costa Rica specializing in artistic ArchViz renders. He recently told us what he loves about Laubwerk: “Laubwerk’s vast range of species and endlessly customizable plants allow us to focus on the artistic side of landscaping for the visualizations we craft. The fact that they offer several tropical and semitropical specific sets is perfect for the line of work we do at Imminent Studio.” César became a Laubwerk user shortly after founding his architectural visualization studio Imminent in 2017. He uses Laubwerk with Maxon Cinema 4D R19 and Corona Render 6.

Highlights of the Laubwerk Player 1.0.37 update include:

  • Added support for Autodesk 3ds Max 2022
  • Updated and expanded the help for our SketchUp Player
  • Fixed mesh errors affecting a few plants
  • Fixed a bug with V-Ray 2 rendering in SketchUp
  • Various material enhancements
  • Miscellaneous other bug fixes

Read the full list of improvements and fixes on the Release Notes page. To get the updates, sign in to your Laubwerk Account Page and download a fresh installer for your Plants Kits. Windows users are advised to uninstall previous versions of their Laubwerk plugin before running the new installer.

New to Laubwerk? Try it for free! The fully functional SurfaceSPREAD 2 demo version (for Cinema 4D only), and the Laubwerk Plants Kit Freebie are available for download at the Laubwerk online store.

Laubwerk Plants Kits enable architects, CG artists, and VFX specialists to insert photo-realistic tree models into their 3D scenes quickly and easily, avoiding the usual slowdowns from overly complicated parameters or excess memory usage. Laubwerk makes this possible by providing just the right amount of options in their 3D tree models, without overwhelming the user or their computer. Each tree model comes in three shapes, with three ages, and four seasons per shape. Adjustable detail level settings mean that each tree looks great without slow navigation or long rendering times.
