Press Release

Vectorworks and Laubwerk Now Work Together!

Columbia (Maryland, USA) and Berlin (Germany), September 14, 2022: Global design and BIM software provider Vectorworks, Inc. and German digital botany software company Laubwerk GmbH announce the release of Vectorworks 2023, integrating Laubwerk Plant objects and its industry-leading Laubwerk Player plugin technology.

In partnership with Laubwerk, Vectorworks 2023 adds a new, extensive library of 3D plant geometry with wide varieties of detail levels, growth stages, seasonal changes, and levels of detail. Laubwerk Plants are ready for Vectorworks users to integrate into their planting styles, or on their own. Add better 3D plant representation for documentation and collaboration, while maintaining manageable file sizes!

German landscape architect Sebastian Riesop, partner at WKM Landschaftsarchitekten GmbH, Düsseldorf, has been using Laubwerk Plants since 2013 and Vectorworks Landmark since the late 1990s. He praises the new Vectorworks integration: "The new Laubwerk tool and plant objects let us visualize trees and shrubs with incredible ease, accuracy, and speed. With just a few clicks, we can adjust the level of abstraction, size, and habit, and even select the seasons. The Laubwerk tool now lets us show plants from all perspectives, in the right way for all design phases."

Check out the features and workflow in the video:

Vectorworks 2023 Landmark and Design Suite users receive instant access to 145 Laubwerk Plants (Plants Kits Freebie, and most of Plants Kit 1-15*), representing species or cultivars of trees, palms, and shrubs. Vectorworks 2023 Architect and Spotlight include five Laubwerk Plants from the Laubwerk Plants Kit Freebie. All Laubwerk Plants that a customer purchases independently of Vectorworks will also be available inside of Vectorworks 2023.

What are Laubwerk Plants?

Laubwerk Plants are high-quality, customizable 3D plant models for 3ds Max, Maya, Cinema 4D, SketchUp—and now Vectorworks 2023—designed to save time and add natural beauty to any scene. A one-click solution brings realistic render-ready 3D trees to life for architects and CG artists, reducing the need for fine-tuning, and encouraging exploration. Innovative technology allows for creative experimentation with multiple, high-density models while efficiently managing the memory footprint. Each tree model comes in three shapes, with three ages and four seasons per shape. Adjustable detail level settings mean that each tree looks great without slow navigation or long rendering times.
Each tree Laubwerk Plant comes in three (3) shapes, three (3) ages and four (4) seasons, for a total of 36 variations. The Plants are bundled in Plants Kits, each with a selection of 10 customizable tree or shrub species, for a total of 360 variations per Kit.

Where To Buy more Laubwerk Plant objects?

Users can purchase additional Laubwerk Plants Kits (1-16) directly at the Laubwerk Store, or from your favorite authorized Laubwerk reseller. Additional plant species and cultivars will be available soon.
