The following 10 temperate flowering ornamental cultivars are included in Plant Kit 26. Each cultivar comes in 3 variations in one seasonal aspect (in full bloom), for a total of 30 models per Kit. Note that Kit 26 is currently a pre-release version with only one or two seasons. It is therefore offered at a reduced price.

Yarrow 'Moonshine'

Achillea clypeolata ‘Moonshine’

A medium sized, short lived, herbaceous perennial of upright and erect, branched habit, forming mounds. Leaves silvery-green, soft, finely haired, lanceolate, pinnate, with a deeply incised leaf margin. The lemon yellow, fragrant umbel flowers emerge in summer and late summer. They are a great nectar source for bees and other insects. This cultivar was introduced in 1958 by a British breeder. It is suitable to be grown in pots and containers as well as a cut flower. The Association of German Perennial Gardeners named it Perennial of the Year 2021.

Sea Thrift 'Splendens'

Armeria maritima ‘Splendens’

An evergreen, robust, small herbaceous perennial forming compact, dense, mounded tufts, slowly spreading over time. The foliage consists of stiff, linear, grass-like, dark green leaves. Slender flower stalks emerge in mid to late spring with bright, deep pink, globular clusters of flowers on top. They attract bees and butterflies. Flowering occasionally repeats in summer. It is followed by inconspicuous small dry burdock fruits. The flowers are suitable for cutting.

Alpine Aster 'Happy End'

Aster alpinus ‘Happy End’

A small, upright growing, compact and clump-forming herbaceous perennial with dark green, lanceolate leaves. Slender, stiff flower stalks with large rose-pink, yellow centered, daisy-like, scented flowers emerge in late spring to early summer. The flowers attract bees and other insects, as they are an important food source for them. This cultivar was bred by German breeder Benary.

White Perennial Cornflower

Centaurea montana ‘Alba’

A medium sized, rhizomatous, upright growing herbaceous perennial with woolly stems. Foliage consists of gray-green, undivided, lanceolate, pointy leaves with a rough, hairy surface. In late spring to early summer, white fringed flowers grow on slender stalks. They sometimes have a pink tint and attract bees, butterflies as well as other insects. Flowers are followed by inconspicuous fruits.

Eastern Purple Coneflower 'Secret Passion'

Echinacea purpurea ‘Secret Passion’

A medium sized, upright and compact growing, densely branched herbaceous perennial. It features medium green, undivided, broad, lanceolate leaves. In mid summer to autumn, mildly scented double flowers with flamingo pink flower petals and a dark pink center cone appear. They are followed by inconspicuous, bare seeds.

Common Sunflower 'Brown Eyed Girl'

Helianthus annuus ‘Brown Eyed Girl’

A medium sized, upright growing, multi-branched herbaceous annual. Foliage consists of dark green, dentate, cordate leaves with pointed or acute leaf tips. It remains green throughout the growing season. Long flowering period from early summer to mid fall. Large, unscented, daisy-like flowers emerge on top of slender stalks. Flower petals are yellow with a color gradient to red-brown towards the brown flower eye center. Attractive to bees, butterflies and birds. Sterile, so no seed production takes place.

Common Rose-mallow 'My Valentine'

Hibiscus moscheutos ‘My Valentine’

A large, hardy, robust, late budding, fast growing perennial with a bushy, heavily branched, upright growing habit formed by basal stalks. Trilobate, medium green leaves and a heart-shaped root system. Long flowering period from summer to fall with deep reddish black buds opening to large, bright red, lightly ruffled flowers with heart-shaped, overlapping, deeply veined flower petals. Attracts butterflies, bees and other insects. Flowers are edible. After flowering, quintuplicate capsular fruits are formed.

English Lavender 'Alba'

Lavandula angustifolia ‘Alba’

A small, bushy, compact, dense, upright growing subshrub forming a rounded clump with evergreen foliage consisting of narrow, linear to lanceolate, silver-grey-green, fragrant leaves. In Summer, spikes of fragrant, white flowers appear at the ends of woody stems. They are attractive to bees and butterflies.

Oriental Poppy 'Checkers'

Papaver orientale ‘Checkers’

A medium sized, hardy perennial growing in an upright manner. Hairy stalks above bold clumps of greygreen, pinnate foliage with bristly texture. In late spring to early summer, white papery flowers with frilly petals and a black center emerge on slender stalks. They are attractive to bees, bumblebees and other insects. Flowers are followed by seed pods, which stay on all winter. Seeds are toxic if ingested in large amounts. Flowers as well as seed pods are suitable for cutting.

Creeping Phlox 'Atropurpurea'

Phlox subulata ‘Atropurpurea’

A small, robust, creeping, herbaceous, wintergreen to evergreen perennial, forming dense cushions over time.
