Laubwerk’s lead 3D artist Jan Walter Schliep has one of the most extensive resumes in the 3D plant-modeling industry, having created a majority of the 3D models for greenwork's Xfrog and XfrogPlants series, the CG software used by Hollywood heavyweights Pixar.

Jan has also developed 3D crops and forests plants for use in research projects and visualizations funded by the Deutsche Bundesstiftung Umwelt (DBU) and the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research.

In 2011, he opened the highly successful Silva3D online store specializing in 3D ornamental plants and grasses.

In January 2013, Jan took on a new challenge as the lead 3D artist for Laubwerk, with the goal to create 3D plant models that not only look great, but are far simpler to use than his previous creations.

Jan brings 14 years of experience to this exciting endeavor as he takes responsibility for all design and procedural modeling for Laubwerk Plants Kit line of render-ready 3D trees, as well as advising and testing the company’s next generation of modeling and editing tools.
